The first great migration: how the west arrived

The process of arrival and migration can be a subject that is heavily reliant of statistics, reducing human migration and those involved into a series of numbers, graphs and charts. Through the narrative of migration the stories and experiences ranging from the French Revolution to WW1 can be explored: what happens when migration is unsuccessful after multiple failed attempts to integrate into the established city. These narratives map out key themes that we then explored further through our research such as physical characteristics of the arrival city, creation and ownership, cultural integration and vulnerability of arrivals.
