Studio Arrival City is an MArch Design Studio at Sheffield School of Architecture. The studio is interested in the social, political and environmental impacts of migration on our cities, focusing on a different city each year; Offenbach, Mannheim, Milan and Lisbon.

THE OFFENBACH BLOCK

“HOW CAN RECONSIDERING THE OFFENBACH BLOCK BEGIN TO ADDRESS THIS CITY’S HOUSING SHORTAGE?”

This thesis project looks at the idea that densifying, by building within Offenbach’s, large scale, mixed use, urban blocks could help the city address it’s current housing shortage. Introducing a mixed use development to the center of a block could create help sustainable communities, integrated into the existing urban fabric of the Offenbach block and city.
